Rodney has been a part of historic preservation efforts in state government for more than 30 years, the majority of those years in Maryland, and has served continuously since 1978 as the Maryland State Historic Preservation Officer. He serves on several commissions and boards dealing with the built and natural environments.

In 2005, Rodney was awarded the National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers (NCSHPO) Lifetime Achievement Award. Click here for more information.
